Get Back to Work!
Goodness, it’s been awhile since we’ve updated everyone on the happenings here at the Dubois Library! It seems that we have finally recovered from the sniffles and coughing that was plaguing us for awhile (note: restock the hand sanitizer and Kleenex!). Now that we’re healthy, it’s Get Back to Work time, and we’ve embarked on some very ambitious projects…
Library Exhibit Case
A new case downstairs in the Atrium of the Museum will showcase the Dubois Library’s collections and programs. Caroline, one of our fabulous interns, is currently working on the exhibition guidelines and should have our first installation completed by mid-February.
Library Brochure
Aaron, our very talented graphic designer, is working on a new brochure for the Library, highlighting our collections and how to reach us. We’ll be sure to pass a few around when it’s finished.
Serials Collection Inventory and Move
Natalie, another of our fabulous interns, has undertaken completing the serials inventory and collection shift. This will be an unbelievable resource for scholars when it is completed, and it’s almost ready.
Lou Stoumen Archive
Heather, the final member of the trio of fabulous interns, is close to completing the processing of the Lou Stoumen Archive. What an amazing collection from an amazing photographer and filmmaker.
Library Committee
Talk has been brewing lately of forming a Library Support Group, and believe me, we need all the support we can muster! We’re very excited about the possibilities for the group and look forward to getting it off the ground.
Grant Funding & Collection Development Policy
Oh yeah, we’re taking care of the basics too…establishing a comprehensive collection policy to help address the collection’s weaknesses and strengths, and attacking those grant applications with fury!
So, if you don’t mind, we’re going to stop blogging now, and Get Back to Work!
